SHZ Aviation LLC was founded in 2009 by Ziki Slav, a veteran special situations and distressed credit expert. In its early years, SHZ Aviation LLC focused on commercial aviation – acquiring aircraft leased to major North American airlines fresh from bankruptcy restructuring, investing in aircraft backed bonds of bankrupt airlines, and more.
As a distressed player, SHZ Aviation LLC invested in various claims of bankrupt crypto exchanges (namely, FTX Trading LTD and BlockFi Inc) and negotiated with the debtors in order to maximize recovery.
In recent years, SHZ Aviation LLC shifted its focus towards the more esoteric fringes of aviation finance. It has been engaged by major providers of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MROs) to advise on collecting debts from a bankrupt airline client; and to structure and arrange financing for various MRO related assets and tasks.
SHZ Aviation LLC has also been working closely with leading manufacturers of military and special-mission aircraft on various structured financing solutions.
SHZ Aviation LLC is registered with the United States Department of State as an Exporter and Broker of controlled equipment under ITAR.
